Accommodations in Lecce, Italy, and at the Castle.
This page exists just to reassure you how easy it is to book your accommodation after booking your cookery course with us.
Once you book your space at the school, we’ll give you access to our Inner Sanctum, the pages of insider information that helps you get the most out of your time in Southern Italy. (We don’t give this out before the booking process, the same way you don’t put the cart before the horse).
These are some of the suggestions and all of them are inside the historic centre of Lecce, within easy walking distance of the school. If booking a castle course, you stay at the castle, an hour south of Lecce. After booking, we’ll make that process incredibly easy for you too.
Accommodations are listed in order of price and levels of amenities, starting with the least expensive and moving upwards.
| Tullio here runs B&B Azzurretta, a low frills paradise for low-to-the-ground travellers, featuring wi-fi throughout the palace, air conditioning in every room, a funky and massive third-story terrace and a young, international atmosphere. Prices start at 25 euro a night, and his place couldn’t be in a better location for those that want to take advantage of la movida, or Lecce’s vibrant nightlife. |

Meri runs Suite 68, a trendy, modern-art based accommodation that straddles the line between bed and breakfast and a modern hotel. ‘Guests love the our relaxed atmosphere, where we give you the keys and you come and go as you please’. Fastidiously kept and with art in every room, her place is soaked in the local gift for juxtaposing the ultra modern against the rustic antique. Enjoy nightcaps on the terrace, a loner bicycle and wi-fi in every room.
Singles begin at 55 euro per night and doubles at 65, depending on the season. Some rooms with private terraces.

Desirèe, or ‘Daisy’ as we all call her runs Santa Chiara, a stunner of a hotel right in front of its name sake church, la chiesa di Santa Chiara. Singles start at 80 Euro a night and doubles at 140. Elegant, well-appointed and superbly-run, this is a European hotel in the classic model. It’s far from surprising then, that when the G8 came to town, this is where they chose to stay.
Aside from perfect English, Daisy also speaks Japanese, learned in her years spent there. ‘I love spending time with folks from outside of Italy’, she says. ‘It’s often such a different way of looking at the world’.

Marta runs il Risorgimento, a modern and designer-driven hotel, based on luxury rooms and an in-house spa (with several spa privileges included in the price of the rooms). Space-age red-orbed glass chandeliers echo the importance of our local wine culture, as do the olive-wood floored rooms, indication your presence in the Salento, one of the world’s olive oil capitals. ‘Ever star-struck with your guests’, I asked her one day. ‘Discretion is important’, she says, ‘but I have to say that Jude Law and Monica Bellucci are both actually much more beautiful in person’. |
A 15 second walk puts you in the centre of the Lecce’s main piazza, an oasis of modernity in a beautifully ancient city.
