Recycling
the South
One
man's annual crusade to reimagine the south of Italy, from
seasonal beach towns to the purveyor of the world's greatest
food and wine, all year 'round.

If
you've ever met me, and maybe even if you haven't, then you'll
already know my passion for the south of Italy.
It's
where I eat, live, travel the most and own a business. It's
where I'll raise my children.
But
over the last 20 years or so I've noticed, that while change
has come quickly to other parts of Europe, it hasn't always
arrived here. Every
year come August, Northern Italians, and a lot of the rest
of the world, descends on Southern Italy, falling madly in
love with the land, sun and sea. But Southern Italy is always
is capable of producing the greatest oil, wine and cuisine
anywhere on earth. It's time to get the word out. Join
me over the next five weeks while I bicycle la Sicilia, la
Calabria, la Basilicata and la Puglia, drawing your attention
to the incomparable foods, wines, high-quality extra virgin
olive oils that deserve to be more famous. I'll
tell you why they are special and what they should mean to
you. |
